COLLABORATIVE & LOUNGE SEATING
Modern offices don't happen at desks anymore. Collaboration happens around modular sofas, in phone booths, at café-height tables, and in the soft, reconfigurable spaces between the desks. We plan, supply, and install collaborative seating, modular lounge, phone booths and focus pods, lounge tables, and the casual furniture that makes active work zones actually work — across corporate, education, healthcare, and hospitality environments. We carry a deep roster of contract, design-forward, and residential-style commercial lines so we can match the seating to the space, the brand, and the people who'll use it.
The space between the desks does most of the modern work.
Look at any modern office floor plan and you'll see something that wasn't there twenty years ago: deliberate, designed space between the rows of desks. Modular sofas where two people pull together for a quick conversation. Soft-back lounge chairs around a coffee table for a four-person huddle. Bar-height tables and stools where a team gathers between meetings. Phone booths where someone takes a call without disrupting the floor.
That space isn't filler. It's where
collaboration actually happens — the unscheduled conversations, the cross-team huddles, the focused calls that need privacy. The furniture in those zones has to do specific things: it has to
flex between configurations,
support different kinds of work, look
intentional rather than improvised, and stand up to constant use by different people. Collaborative and lounge furniture is what makes a modern open office actually
function as one.

Oklahoma Christian School - high school common space and library/media center.
A project that demonstrates how a single modular soft-seating family can do meaningfully different work across one building. We specified Global's River+ modular lounge system in two distinct applications: the high school common space (configured for casual collaborative use, group conversation, and individual study) and the library/media center (configured for a more structured, longer-stay environment that supports both quiet reading and small-group collaboration). The same product family, the same coordinated finishes, two completely different rooms — which is exactly what a modular lounge is designed to do.
Other collaborative and lounge work we've delivered spans education, corporate, and healthcare clients, including Okana Resort and Imagenet, and continues to be a growing share of the projects we plan as more clients design their floors around collaborative zones rather than just desks.
Every collaborative seating project includes design, delivery, and installation.
When you engage Focus on a workstation project, whether it's six seats or two hundred, the engagement includes:
- Consultation to understand your space, your team, and the kinds of collaboration the zone needs to support (on-site) in the OKC metro; virtual for projects further out)
- Space planning and product recommendations in CET, Revit, or AutoCAD, with attention to traffic flow, acoustics, and how the zone reads visually
- A preliminary quote with layout and pricing
- A review round with design changes
- A final detailed quote with finalized layout for approval
- Order placement and coordination with manufacturers and trades
- Warehouse inspection before delivery - we don't schedule the install until the product is in our hands
- In-house delivery installation by our own crew, including assembly of complex modular configurations and pod installations
- Cleanup after install - wipe-down, vacuum, and removal of packing materials and trash before we leave
- Ongoing service when you need reconfigurations, adjustments, or repairs down the road
The initial on-site consultation, preliminary quote, space plan, review round, and final quote are complimentary

FAQs
What's the difference between modular soft seating and traditional lounge seating?
Traditional lounge seating is configured as finished pieces — a sofa is a sofa, a chair is a chair. Modular soft seating is a system of components — backs, seats, arms, ottomans, connectors — that can be specified in dozens of configurations and reconfigured later as the space changes. Modular is the dominant approach in modern collaborative spaces because it flexes; traditional lounge still works well in formal lobbies and waiting areas.
Do you carry Framery, ROOM, or other office phone booths?
We carry phone booth and pod systems from ROOM, Nook, Hush (Thinkspace), and more. The category has expanded quickly with new entrants — we'll spec the right pod based on the size, acoustic rating, ventilation, electrical requirements, and aesthetic each project calls for. If a specific brand is the right fit for your project, we can usually fulfill it.
Can you do modular lounge for an education project?
Yes. We recently configured Global's River+ modular lounge system in both the common space and the library/media center at Oklahoma Christian School — one product family, two completely different room functions, coordinated finishes throughout. Education clients are one of our growing segments for collaborative and modular work.
What about modular for an office that wants to feel less corporate?
We carry residential-style commercial lines like Gus Modern and Blu Dot alongside the traditional contract manufacturers. These work especially well in collaborative spaces where the goal is for the furniture to feel like a well-curated home rather than a contract installation.
How long do modular lounge orders take?
Six to ten weeks from manufacturers for built-to-order upholstered configurations, plus about a week of transit. Phone booths and pods ship a bit faster. Quickship options exist for some popular configurations.
Do you handle installation of complex modular configurations and pod systems?
Yes. Our installation crew is in-house and assembles complex modular configurations and pod installations on-site. For pods with electrical or ventilation requirements, we coordinate those trades alongside the install.
What manufacturers do you carry for collaborative and lounge seating?
We carry close to two dozen modular and lounge lines across every tier — premium contract (Andreu World, Studio TK, Allseating, Krug, Senator, Davis, Bernhardt Design, Cumberland, Keilhauer, Trinity), design-forward mid-tier (Arcadia, Boss Design, Stylex, Encore, OFGO Studio), broad commercial (Global, Indiana, Allseating), residential-style commercial (Gus Modern, Blu Dot), plus phone booth and pod systems (ROOM, Nook, Hush/Thinkspace) — and more, plus over 100 manufacturers across all product categories. We match the seating to the space and the use case rather than pushing a single line.
